Touch sensitive keys are placed on the left and menu and back key are placed on the right respectively, which are displayed only when the screen is active. It has a light, indicative plastic cover on the body that looks like a metal finish and a back panel same as the Galaxy Ace. The rear side has a camera and the speaker. The sides have the volume jack keys. Galaxy Y is 58 x 104 x 11.5 mm dimensioned and weighs about 98 grams.

Samsung Galaxy Y has a primary 2 MP camera with 1600×1200 pixels and Geo-tagging feature, As there is no secondary camera you will not be able to use it for video calling and even the clarity of the camera is not convincing.
It has the same music player as in the Galaxy S and S II. Equalizer presets there in the system will be useful to play the music. There is a basic music player app pre-loaded on the phone providing you the ability to create playlists on the move and a nice feature in the notification bar allowing you to skip and play/pause tracks without having to open the app. The Galaxy Y supports MP3, WAV and eAAC+ music file formats.
Performance & Battery Life
Samsung Galaxy Y has a standard 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery with a stand-by time of up to 850 hours on 2G and 540 hours on 3G. Talk time is up to 17 hours on 2G and up to 6 hours 20 min on 3G.
The Samsung Galaxy Y is a compact and cheap phone and the Galaxy branding might appeal to it. Good ranges of apps are available for this smart phone. The screen is too small and the resolution is also very poor. Camera is a big drawback and battery life could be suspected, but on our tests the performance of the battery proved to be impressive.
